This hunt is as real as it gets. Chance set out in the deep Illinois timber chasing the elusive L2 Buck—a mature whitetail that refused to step out into the food sources and stayed locked down in the woods.
The hunt started with a close call as a group of does nearly gave away his location. But patience paid off. Not long after, the L2 Buck walked right into an opening at 25 yards, offering a shot of a lifetime.
The arrow hit a touch back, and Chance made the tough but smart decision to give the buck a few hours. By the time he tracked him down, the coyotes had already found him. Even so, it was an unforgettable hunt and a testament to persistence, strategy, and the thrill of bowhunting.
