The story begins in a Missouri treestand, where Terry has been hunting a mature buck known as LOBSTER CLAW, a 6½-year-old whitetail he first encountered during October the previous season. This year, daylight Stealth Cam photos on the same timber logging road convinced Terry the buck was following a nearly identical pattern.
On October 30th, Terry has a close encounter with Lobster Claw in the timber but can’t get a shot. Even though sightings stop, the Stealth Cam pictures keep coming, giving Terry confidence the buck is still using the area.
With Missouri still on his mind, Terry shifts gears and heads to Illinois for firearms season, where he tags a solid whitetail on the second morning with a Winchester 350 Legend.
Less than a day later, Terry is right back in Missouri, climbing into the same treestand where Lobster Claw has been patterned. Trusting the timing, terrain, and the deer’s consistency, everything finally comes together.
Terry harvests LOBSTER CLAW with the new Mathews Arc bow, sealing an incredible accomplishment—two bucks, two states, a gun and a bow, all within 25 hours.
This episode is a true timber hunt and a perfect example of patience, long-term patterning, and capitalizing when the moment finally arrives.
