Terry Drury Shoots The Oldest Buck On His Farm | Deer Season 24

Any of you following us over the last few years have probably heard us talk about the Fat 8.

While he’s never had the biggest rack, his age has kept him at the top of the target list. The problem is he has been one of the most random and nocturnal deer we have ever hunted.

This past season though come mid November into December, he seemed to settle in around one bean field for a few days at a time every week or so. Going into firearm season, we knew if we got a picture of him there, Forrest and I needed to be parked there as many hours as possible.

This field is surrounded by super thick cedars and thermal cover, so even on this cold, high wind day, we thought there was a chance he may pop out to feed.

Mid-afternoon, that’s exactly what he did; I was finally able to lay eyes on him for the first time ever!

The 6.8 Western performed flawlessly and he didn’t make it off the field! The farm feels a little empty with him gone and not posing in front of our Stealth Cams, but I’m humbled to have finally gotten the opportunity to take such an old warrior!
